African Fashion: hair is big business in Nigeria - from brazilian weaves to Peruvian wigs - Nigeria is one of the world's biggest markets for cosmetic hair products.
"They have all kinds of colours - the reds, the greens, the pink, the wine - every colour you can think of!" says our presenter Adeola, as she shows us round a wigs and weaves market store in Balogun market, Lagos.
You would be hard-pressed to go anywhere in any major Nigerian city and find even just a woman who is not wearing a wig or weave! In the humid and hot heat of Nigeria, the wigs and weaves must be treated with oil and should be changed every month or so.
And for Mr Alhaji Giwa, who has owned a market stall in Lagos for 22 years - business is good:
"If you want to do sports in your school - we have the pink colour wig [although the wig looks orange to us!] ... the green wig can be worn with while like the flag of Nigeria... the wine coloured wig is for manicure."
He even gives practical demonstrations to customers by wearing the wigs himself - "So people can see and be attracted by a sample of the wig," he says.
Prices vary, but can start from a few hundred Naira to as much as 8500 Naira ($55) for the most expensive Brazilian wig at Giwa's store.
To demonstrate this growing African fashion, Adeola tries on various wigs. It is a market dominated by the Asian industries but many Nigerian companies are entering the market to try and compete.
