GQ x Georgio Armani: State Of Australian Men's Fashion

GQ’s ‘State Of Man’ Lunch Where is the Australian man at? What concerns him? What consumes him? What, ultimately, embodies the contemporary gent? Naturally, such questions are bandied about daily here at GQ HQ. But what do others – men and women – think of masculinity’s modern equation; just what is the state of the Australian man? With that in mind we recently hosted an exclusive lunch to open up the conversation with friends of the magazine – each coming at the question from varying backgrounds and experiences. With help from Armani - and to also herald the brilliant new release that is the woody, aromatic and aquatic Acqua Di Gio Profumo – we sat down to the discussion at Sydney’s Icebergs restaurant. Guests included Giorgio Armani's CEO Izumi Sasano, L’Oreal’s Ingrid Lovett, Olympic champion Ian Thorpe, TV presenter James Tobin, models Jordan Barrett, Bambi Northwood-Blyth and Zac Stenmark, alongside designers Sam Elsom, Huw Bennett, Patrick Blue, Dan Single and Brent Wilson, architect Kelvin Ho, AFL footballer Tom Derickx, Vogue Australia editor in chief Edwina McCann and Vogue Living’s Neale Whitaker, among others.
